Thanks to Friends & Family

What a year 2006 has been!  Definately not the best in mine and Mike’s 10 years of marriage plus 7 years before that.  It was a struggle but we survived, with the help of friends and family.

Of course, the bright spot of the year was our new addition at the end of 2005.  Mikey is now 13 months old.  He is adorable and loving.  It was quite an adjustment for all of us to get used to having another body in the house.  Mike has to share mommy again and help more with Katie b/c my hands are full.  Katie, learning to share her mommy and her toys.  They literally fight for my lap.  For me, learning to survive on no sleep again and balancing time between my three loves.

Katie kept us laughing through the tough days.  She is growing like a weed.  She turned four in November, but seems so much older.  She is a happy, smart, beautiful young lady.  She has more energy than  10 people, and talks even more than her mommy ever did.  Yes, its true!

Mike started his new job with Continental Airlines in late 2005.  This was a big change for us in many ways.  He is now flying the 757 and 767.  He is still on reserve (on call) but that is turning out to be a pretty good deal.  He lucked out, by some miracle, to get based in Houston.  He rarely has to work so he is home alot.  In fact, this month he has only flown 2.5 hours, to San Antonio and back.  I’m very jealous.  I wish I could get paid to stay home everyday!  Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that all this merger talk goes away!!

We bought a new house in May.  Originally our plan was to sell our house and downsize for a year or two.  Naturally, while we were trying to sell ours, we found a deal we couldn’t turn down.  Our new house is on the water, with boat access and storage.  We live on a canal just off the channel to Galveston Bay.  It is a nice quiet community.  The only downside is that there is no garage and no storage space.  We plan on adding on in a few years and remodelling the kitchen.  We’ll make it just what we want, b/c I am never moving again!!

All in all it was a very tough year, but I believe I see the light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully it is not a train.  2007 is looking to be a good year for the Texas addition of the McGagh clan.  I want to thank all the friends and family who have helped us throughout this year.  We could not have made it without you.  Thank you and I love you all.
